This project has been ongoing since 2016. It features images of African American men and boys engaged in everyday life. The photos were taken in various places, such as parks, homes, community events, family reunions, and streets. The images were largely unposed and organic in nature. One exception is the image of the soldier kissing his son. The impetus of this project was sparked by the ongoing deaths of unarmed Black men and boys, seemingly without regard for their humanity. She presents images that present Black men and boys in their everyday lives. Lives that are no different than boys and men of other races. Lives no less deserving of respect, compassion, protection, and celebration.
